Dear God
If you’re there
I’ve doubted you
I’ve cursed you
I’ve hated you
I’ve discarded
A belief in you
For a belief in myself.
I’ve laughed at others
Who put their Faith in you.
I’ve said they lacked courage
And self-confidence.
I’ve mocked their belief
In a being that can neither
Be seen nor felt.
But now
I’ve run out of courage
I’ve lost all self-confidence
And I can no longer believe
In myself
For I have lied too many times.
So I come to you
A sinner, a pagan, a hater
And I beg of you
If there is any hope
Of salvation
Please save me now.
