Beautiful sky views from last night
Here are three beautiful sky views that I caught on camera during my walk last night. All three were taken within 15 minutes of each other. (Click the pics for larger versions.)
Feeding carrots to cows and goats
Me and the dogs visit with neighborhood cows and goats and feed them carrots:

Poll: Sprinkler rainbows – awesome or cheating?
I’ve decided to start taking polls on important issues of our day. Here’s the first. Vote and be heard! [polldaddy poll=5433231] “Democracy only works if you spam all your friends and make them vote too.” -President John Adams
Someone call The Weekly World News…
I think this photo speaks for itself, but in case it doesn’t… BIGFOOT IS HIDING IN AN ANTHILL IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD! Or maybe it’s BIGFOOT CAPTURED BY ANTS IN THE CALIFORNIA DESERT! I don’t know exactly what it is, but it’s clearly something. Theories are invited.
Coming back
I have been ridiculously delinquent about posting, and I am officially marking that trend for demolition right now. Things have been pretty turbulent for the past couple months. A tree bashed my house in, then I moved, and now I’m probably about to move again. That’s no excuse, but that’s my excuse nonetheless. More tomorrow. […]
Valley Girl in 82 Tweets
Last night I “live-tweeted” the movie Valley Girl (1983), starring Nicolas Cage and Deborah Foreman, as I watched it in full for the first time (on DVD). I really enjoyed the movie, and had fun tweeting along with it. Here’s what came out, unedited: 22:34:51 Watching “Valley Girl”. I know, I’m like, such a fad […]
Subscribing to My Feed
Subscribing to my blog’s feed is more accessible and easier than it has been in the past. First, I added a more prominent RSS icon, which you can see over to the right. Then I added a Feedburner-based email subscription signup form. So now it’s easier than ever to set yourself up with regular updates […]
Day off (but if you have a second…)
Various things ranging from technical difficulties to the fact that yesterday’s blog post was inordinately huge are keeping me from getting a solid blog post done within this calendar day, but I will definitely (retroactive edit: almost definitely) have two for tomorrow. I have a new comic that’s been ready to get made for days […]
The Salad That Ate Sacramento (and/or Healed the World)
I’m definitely not one of those people who sticks my nose up at folks posting relatively ordinary occurrences from their day on Twitter. I’ve been on the Internet for a long damn time, and one of the things that makes it great is its ability to bridge the invisible divide that has grown between “strangers” […]
The Overhaul Continues
The new version of this site continues to take shape, and part of that is migrating my old subdomains poems.lancebrown.me and works.lancebrown.me over to here. Those were entirely separate installations of WordPress, for reasons that seemed to make sense at the time, but which never bore any appreciable advantage. Now they are nestled comfortably in […]
