What a revolting ‘Development’ — Newsday.com
For a tiny subset of the American population called the “Save our Bluths” – aka the Bluthies – today will live as a day in infamy. They’ve cajoled. They’ve begged. They’ve done what every other red-blooded, cockeyed, obsessive TV fan does – e-mailed network executives. But to no avail.
“Arrested Development” will end its three-season run on Fox in a two-hour block tonight starting at 8. And unless Showtime picks it up – where even fewer viewers are guaranteed, if that’s arithmetically possible – then “Arrested” will drift off to DVD heaven.
Is this “fair”? Don’t even go there. This isn’t traffic court or even “Judge Joe Brown.” It’s television, where majority rules, and it’s America, where the number of Bluthies can be counted on one hand – say, Buster’s hand.
